The Empresa Concesionaria de Servicios Sanitarios, S.A. (Econssa) awards ECOAGUA the contract to review the construction engineering of the seawater Desalination Plant in the Atacama region, in Chile.

The objective of the Project is the realization of a new potable water source to supply the towns of Copiapó, Caldera, Chañaral and Tierra Amarilla through a seawater desalination plant with reverse osmosis technology, in three stages of construction, the first to reach a production capacity of 450 L/s, the second to reach 900 L/s and the third to achieve the final capacity of 1,200 L/s. The plant will be located on the coastal edge of the city of Caldera (Punta Zorro) and the objective is that the first stage can start operation at the end of 2019.

After having participated in the project in the bidding phase, preparing the bidding documents and carrying out the technical evaluation of the proposals of the bidders, ECOAGUA is awarded by public tender of the Counterparty Engineering Review contract, whose scope includes the complete revision of the construction engineering of the Desalination Plant in all its disciplines, developed by the Contractor GS Inima/CVV. The contract has a duration of one year and runs parallel to the construction of the Desalination Plant.
